Sugar Cone Studio is located in the historic Cedars District, just south of downtown Dallas and across the street from Dallas Heritage Village, the oldest park in the metroplex.
Countless performers, musicians and artists have used the studio since its establishment in 2003. From 2006 to mid-2015, the studio served as the main rehearsal space for local burlesque favorites, the Lollie Bombs.
Founder e. hall serves as the studio’s resident artistic director and choreographer. His credits include Grotesque Burlesque, Lollie Bombs Burlesque (’06-’12), as well as numerous collaborations with local burlesque and alternative performers.
Transition is currently taking place at Sugar Cone Studio. The once white-walled rehearsal space has been turned into a fully functional black box theatre, dubbed the Sugar Box. We will soon host small-scale variety shows in addition to rehearsals, private lessons, and intimate photo/video shoots.
The Sugar Box is equipped with a mirrored wall, a 12′ x 16′ raised platform stage and rigging for aerial performance. A nice, loud surround sound stereo system with auxiliary hook-up is available for use.
If live music is more your style, the black box also houses a well-tuned upright piano, suited for live musical performances or private rehearsals and lessons.
The space also includes two rows of raked audience space, totaling 19 seats.
Exciting things are happening at Sugar Cone Studio. We look forward to showing you.
